Filmmaking:From Script to Screen Research Schedule

Abstract:

Understanding the short film. A twelve-week session which will consist of a series of classes and workshops. The classes will focus on directing and screenwriting, given in lecture form, with student involvement/questions highly encouraged – as these online classes will be small in size, possibly a maximum of five students.

The workshop aspect of the course will focus on the students developing an idea for a short screenplay, and writing and completing a first draft of a short screenplay by the end of the course.

Course Objectives

The course is an intimate structure where students can engage directly with the professor. The design of the course is a “practical” one, with a combination of lectures and workshops. The workshops will culminate with each student developing an idea for a short screenplay and writing a short screenplay.
